As many of you have heard, things are progressing well for the Martin County OHV Club and the CITRUS OFF ROAD PARK. In June the County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee approved the concept of an Off Road Motorcycle riding area. On July 29, 2008 the Martin County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the projects concept and the process of finalizing the land lease is under way.

Up until this point a few individuals have funded the clubs expenses. The club has hired an attorney to form a non profit corporation, plus draft and negotiate the land lease with the county. A land planner was also needed to develop the site plan and attend county meetings. We developed and distributed posters, flyers, and pledge forms and opened a checking account. We chose to wait until the project was approved by the county before asking others to invest their time and money. We are now confident that we will receive all the necessary approvals to get the riding area opened.

The club has received pledge forms from all over south Florida; undoubtedly the possibility of having an organized and managed riding area close to home has energized the off-road riding community! We hope this excitement continues as we move closer to completion.
